A Metaverse is a 3D virutal environment in which there are a massive number of avatars online, socializing and interacting.
The LensShare Metaverse is conceptually the same, but realer. There is a 2D virtual environment that consists of "Spaces", which are just video chat rooms. And the people aren't avatars, they just look like themselves.

The LensShare Metaverse supports an infinite number of Spaces. To help manage this vast Metaspace, we have created seven "Portals", which contain pre-defined Spaces. This way, if you chose a Portal and click on a Space, there are more chances that you will find someone there.

Spaces are where the action takes place. A Space is just a zoom-like, video chat room that is meant for talking about a specific topic.
You can move into a private Space by entering a secret room name in a Holodeck. Then just share the link. There is a Holodeck on the homepage and in every Portal.
